Solar Rebates and Tax Credits

Renewable energy provides many benefits to the electric grid, public health, and the economy.  For these reasons, solar rebates and other solar incentives (such as a solar tax credits) are frequently provided by local utilities and government.  There are different incentive structures for residential solar, commercial solar, and non-profit solar systems.  If you reside on Long Island, LIPA provides solar rebates to homeowners, businesses, and non-profits for installing solar electric systems.  In most of the rest of New York, NYSERDA is responsible for dispensing rebates.
