Gregory D. Sachs, Chief Technical Officer
Gregory Sachs is an electrical and mechanical engineer with broad based experience in design, operation and fabrication of power systems. As Program Manager and co-founder of the United States Merchant Marine Academy's
Alternative Power Program, Greg is dedicated to realizing a vision of changing the way our country uses energy. Greg is also a former professor of engineering with specific experience in solar, wind, hydrogen, fuel-cell, steam, electrical distribution, and nuclear technologies.
Concurrently, Greg is also pursuing a Master of Science from the Massacuhusetts Institute of Technolgoy in Engineering and Management, which is a joint program between the Sloan School of Management and the Engineering School. The degree is sponsored by the System Design and Management program, part of the Engineering Systems Divison. Greg is expected to graduate in June 2009.
Greg graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in 1999. He attended Navy Nuclear Power School, and subsequently held several management and teaching positions as a Nuclear Plant Engineer at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. Recently Greg sailed deep-sea and renewed his third assistant engineering license. He has since aggressively devoted his professional career toward building and realizing a vision of energy sustainability in the maritime industry, the United States, and the world.
