Electric Vehicle Solar Carports

New York Institute of Technology

EmPower designed and built two solar carport electric vehicle charging stations with comprehensive data acquisition systems for the New York Institute of Technology. EmPower is also serving as a project consultant responsible for advising on electric vehicle acquisition, project planning and expansion strategies. The solar carports were funded by a grant from Congressman Steve Israel, via the US Department of Energy.

EmPower is also working on a report in conjunction with NYIT and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) that will present an environmental and energy analysis of electric vehicles charged by solar energy. The report is being funded by the Long Island Power Authority.
